CLIMATE AND NATURE SUMMIT COP 27
The Climate and Nature Summit takes place this week. We at Kiltallagh are very excited about all the stimulating conversations that will take place this week as World Leaders come together for COP27. In the Junior Class, we first chatted about climate change and Ireland’s Temperate Rainforests
On Day 2, we then focused our attention on the importance of woodlice to Ireland’s ecosystems.
Day 3 of The Climate and Nature Summit 2022.
We watched a virtual bog and river walk. Then, we went outside to our school garden and explored and investigated our surroundings. We completed our Nature Journals when we returned to our classrooms. 😊😊
The Explorers Education Programme together with Sea Synergy brought the marine world to life in Kiltallagh NS on Thursday. Conor, who works with Sea Synergy based in Waterville, visited us and spoke to us about our amazing oceans.
He set up a live aquarium in the Junior Classroom full of marine creatures - starfish, periwinkles, dog whelks, shrimps, prawns and a Shanny fish that will remain in our school for two weeks. We will be observing and recording the behaviour of these marine creatures over the next two weeks 🐠🐬🌊🐟
